Moorella Farming trades cattle and sheep, manages genetics, and builds the precision livestock platforms used by producers across Australia and the United States. Indexes calibrated to producer economics — not breed-society politics.
Moorella Farming Pty Ltd is a commercial mixed cattle and sheep enterprise based at Clear Creek, Byawatha, in north-east Victoria. We run an Angus-based composite cattle herd, the Catalyst shedding sheep flock — unshorn for sixteen years — and trade stock through the eastern Australian markets.
What sets us apart is what happens after the gate shuts. We have spent the last decade building the data infrastructure, the genetic analysis tools, and the decision-support platforms that turn raw on-farm measurement into profit-grade decisions. Everything we publish is field-tested first on our own country, with our own livestock, against our own balance sheet.
We don't write software for farmers. We're farmers who write software.
Moorella Farming runs a privately-held livestock dataset built up over more than a decade of measurement, recording and integration. We use it to fuel live indexing systems that combine genomics, phenotypes, epigenetics and AI — feeding precision livestock management at the paddock level.
Trading, management and genetic systems are the same problem viewed at three time horizons — this week's market, this season's cashflow, this generation's progress. We treat them that way.
Active commercial trading across cattle and sheep classes — run on agistment, leases and sharefarming arrangements rather than owned country. Buy, background, finish and turn off, with margin discipline grounded in livestock trading account principles, DSE rating and real cost-of-production maths.
Cornell STAR accelerated lambing on the Catalyst flock. Composite cattle breeding, rotational grazing, stocking-rate calibration and forward feed budgeting. Operational systems we run ourselves before we hand them to anyone else.
Building live, profit-based indexes from the integration of genomics, phenotypes, epigenetics and AI. The output is a working decision tool — sort, rank, select, mate — calibrated to producer economics, not breed-society politics.
Moorella Farming designed, engineered and ships every platform below. They are the productised versions of tools we built for our own operation — released to commercial producers across Australia and the United States.
Whole-of-business operating system for Australian mixed enterprises. Forward planning, livestock trading account, benchmarking, AI Co-Pilot and historical P&L integration in a single workspace.
thefarmos.com.auThe North American counterpart, built for US beef ranching and crop production. Localised for AUM, $/cwt, Schedule F, USDA reporting and the realities of running country in Texas, Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas.
ranchmanageros.comCombines EID, genomic data, pasture monitoring and carcase feedback into one paddock-level platform. Per-animal pages, ration calculators built on SCA 2007 equations, and integration with Zoetis Inherit Select.
paddockos.com.auDynamic Index Engine. Drag-and-drop a P&L, get back a profit-calibrated ranking of your catalogue tailored to your enterprise economics — with a Bid Advisor strategy layer for sale-day decisions.
moorellafarming.com.au/platformAnimal nutrition and rations engine for cattle and sheep classes — built on SCA 2007 maintenance and production energy equations, with practical ingredient libraries and feed-costing built in.
Embedded across platformsA standalone, free drought-feeding tool for Australian producers. SCA 2007 energy maths under the bonnet, a warm AI advisor on top — built for people making hard decisions with hungry stock and short feed.
Free for producersMoorella Farming releases its software two ways. Direct to producers under our own brands — Farm OS, Ranch Manager OS, PaddockOS, MGT Platform — and under licence to companies that need a livestock-data product released under their own name.
Licensed deployments are billed on a royalty model against subscription revenue. We build, you brand — and the underlying engineering, data discipline and ongoing development sit with the team that wrote it.
Released under Moorella Farming brands, sold direct to producers.

Moorella Farming partners with strategic operators and institutions internationally — universities, breed companies, genetics suppliers and large commercial enterprises who want measurement-led genetic progress integrated into a working supply chain.
Index design, breeding objective work, mating allocation systems, and implementation of integrated-genetics-company principles inside commercial operations.
Direct access to Advancer composite cattle and Catalyst shedding sheep genetics, including semen, embryos and flock-foundation arrangements through Ovigen Australia.
Building and overseeing supply chains where genetic measurement runs the full length — from selection decisions, through carcase and meat-quality feedback, back to the next mating round.
